Sol Education Abroad is very excited to announce that twice alumna McKinley Cole has joined the SOL team in Austin!
McKinley studied abroad with SOL for the Spring Semester in Heredia, Costa Rica and also for the Spring Semester in Granada, Spain.
Please read her biography:
McKinley Cole was born in Cincinnati, OH and raised across the river in Northern Kentucky. She grew up on Sunday morning pancakes, Jack Johnson, and spent her childhood enjoying gymnastics practices. She has always been close to family, has one younger brother and thinks that home is only complete with lots of dogs. After high school, she followed in her parents’ footsteps by attending Eastern Kentucky University where she studied the Spanish language, International Studies and Public Relations. After her first year, she went on an overseas mission trip through her home church to the Dominican Republic, where she first realized her love of travel and different cultures. During the spring semester of her sophomore year, she studied abroad in Heredia, Costa Rica with Sol Education Abroad! It was the most influential experience of her college career, so she went back the next spring semester to study with SOL in Granada, Spain! Here she had the opportunity to be immersed in Spanish culture and travel all over Europe. Now, she’s visited a total of 20 countries and her desire to travel is stronger than ever! SOL shaped her college experience and future plans, leading her back to SOL after graduation in 2017. McKinley now lives in Austin, TX and works with SOL to help other students have their own awesome experiences abroad! You can find McKinley drinking coffee, reading books or out enjoying the Texas sunshine.
