Program Overview

Learn Spanish in one of the most beautiful countries in the world . . . ¡Costa Rica! Explore the verdant cloud forests and tropical coastlines of the Central American country while immersing you in the Spanish language.

Academic Overview

The Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, located in Heredia, Costa Rica, is a private university fully accredited by the Costa Rican government. It was founded in 1986 with a focus on Business Administration. Today the university has a full range of degrees for students from across Central America and other parts of the world. Spanish courses taught at the university follow curriculum guidelines established by the Common European Framework. The Universidad Latina de Costa Rica is located on a spacious campus set amongst pine trees. Green space abounds for studying outside or for intramural sports. First-rate academics combined with a beautiful locale make the Universidad Latina de Costa Rica a world-class location for study abroad.

Walk to the crater's edge of an active volcano at Poás Volcano National Park and hike in the verdant cloud forest of Monteverde

Experience the rush of white-water rafting on one of the top 5 rivers in the world!

Walk along stretches of pristine beaches, snorkel in crystal clear Caribbean waters, explore the hidden coves of Manuel Antonio National Park, or just relax on the beach!

Cultural Activities

Gallop along the tropical coastline of the Pacific and explore the lush cloud forests of the Costa Rican highlands on horseback!

Hike to hidden jungle waterfalls and bike down rural countryside roads

Explore the beautiful natural areas of Costa Rica during weekday strolls after your classes and during the evening, learn how to dance salsa and merengue!

Volunteer Opportunities

We encourage all of our students to volunteer during their study abroad experience. Whether you decide to teach English to local high school students, assist in a Costa Rican grassroots community service program, or just dedicate time to a food shelter, you will not only better your Spanish, but also make lifelong friends along the way!

Housing

All programs include housing with a local host family. Living and sharing your experience abroad with a host family is one of the highlights of studying overseas.
