So, when the timing and opportunity presented itself, I chose Sol Education Abroad. And I am so glad I did! I have long wanted to study Spanish in an immersive setting and the Sol program in Argentina was ideal. Sol provided just the right amount of challenge and support I needed to thrive in Buenos Aires and commit to learning Spanish. Hey, it is never too late to study abroad! Muchas Gracias to the Sol Education Abroad team!" View Less

I really enjoyed all of the excursions, more specifically, I really enjoyed the walk up to the Albycin and Sacromonte! I absolutely loved my homestay family! I couldn´t have asked for a better homestay experience. My parents were friendly, clean, and helpful! [My host mom] always made the best meals and made sure my roommate and I were well taken care of. The greatest benefits were being able see my Spanish improve and watching myself grow as a more independent learner. I really grew to love the language and wanted to push myself to continue to know more. This program offers you everything you need in order to feel safe will abroad! The directors will do a great job at taking care of you and you will get the chance to make life-long memories with other students!" View Less

Also, I felt in really great hands with all three of the directors, especially Edu who was always sending out fun things to do and weekly emails. She made my time here even more enjoyable always talking to me about everything that was going on in school, at home, and in life. [My host family], other than my AMAZING roommate, were hands down the best part of my experience. I feel like I am really their daughter, and I can't wait to be able to share more of my life with them even when I am in the states. If everyone could experience their love, it wouldn't be enough. 10/10! Overall, this experience has molded me into a whole new person. I am so blessed to be the person I am today, and I could not be that person without this experience. The things I learned here will, no doubt, follow me through my whole life." View Less

The greatest benefits from this experience was getting out of my comfort zone and taking a leap of faith with living here in Spain. My host mother, my classmates, and the encouragement to travel while being here has been life changing. The biggest challenge has been missing my family, friends, boyfriend, and church community back home. But, it was necessary for me to leave and face these challenges of away from home in order to grow more into the woman I am meant to be!" View Less

The best cultural immersion I have had is with the host family. From the first day, I was welcomed with open arms. Talking with the family definitely is a major part of the experience and I enjoy every second with the family. [My host family] was amazing. I had a great time with the family and never felt out of place with them. The great home cooked meals were my favorite. I had a great time meeting their family and definitely improved my Spanish speaking skills with their company. Everything about this program has improved my Spanish speaking skills. I enjoyed the best times of my life with these new friends of mine! Gracias SOL!" View Less

She gave us great advice and support. My host sisters were also great and helped us without Spanish. We ate every meal together and talked a lot. I loved living with them and will miss them a lot. [Studying abroad with Sol] definitely influenced many aspects of my future life. Living here in Spain I have seen a different way of life. It has opened my eyes to what else is in this big world and how I see it. I hope that in some way it will influence my career and I will be able to work with Spanish people or maybe even in Spain!" "I love my host family. The single best thing that happened to me in Spain besides my roommate! [My host mom] is the most wonderful mom, and I am going to miss her. When I arrived on the first day, she noticed I was on edge and she did everything in her power to comfort me. We went out to tapas when my family came to Spain, and my family also really enjoyed hanging out with them. I consider the next people who live with [my host family] are blessed beyond belief. Also, I strongly suggest finding a cool place to volunteer. At the beginning of the semester our program directors sent us a list of potential places to volunteer. I contacted the dioses of Granada and after meeting with the youth program director, I started working with a church after school program in pueblos outside of Granada. I was in a van for 40 minutes with other volunteers who didn't speak any English 2 days a week for the semester, and for this my Spanish improved immensely. I recommend getting involved with the intercambios, too. They are really helpful!!" View Less
